Productivity-Driven Success / Becoming a Can-Do Leader:

Words of Wisdom from Two Local Authors

Eric Bloom, Jamie Millard

Wednesday, February 8, 2017
6:00pm–8:30pm

We are extremely fortunate to have two accomplished Learning & Development authors in our area to speak at our February event. On Wednesday, February 8th, we’ll be welcoming Eric Bloom and Jamie Millard to ATD Greater Boston and they’ll share some great insights that they’ve captured in their books. What can you look forward to hearing from each speaker?

Eric Bloom, Founder of Manager Mechanics, recently authored Productivity-Driven Success, an Amazon bestseller. Eric will share with us an insightful analysis of productivity issues that everyone faces in their day-to-day work, along with many “oh wow” ideas for maximizing your own personal productivity.

Eric has already taken excerpts from his book and shared it on a national stage by way of a TEDx Talk, which Eric delivered last summer. Key presentation topics include: “The 4 Zones of Personal Productivity”, “Near-Time Far-Time”, and “Management Time Versus Worker Time.” Eric combines these interrelated concepts into actionable techniques you can immediately use upon your return to the office, that will enhance your personal productivity, help drive organizational efficiency and help facilitate your personal work/life balance.

Jamie Millard, Executive Partner and Co-Founder at Lexington Leadership, authored Becoming a Can-Do Leader: A Guide for the Busy Manager, acclaimed as a #1 New Release by Amazon Books. In an ironic twist, this book was written for managers who are too busy to read books. And doesn’t that describe just about all of us today?

Jamie’s presentation will offer us strategies to:

  • Embrace a “can-do mindset” that challenges conventional management thinking and enables them to be successful – whether they are delegating or doing work themselves.
  • Be able to “think TP&L” – making sure to take a “power pause” and consider “task, people & learning” opportunities when managing or doing.
  • Apply “situational doing” strategies to decide when it makes sense to delegate vs. selectively do professional work themselves.
  • Create a “can-do learning culture” than encourages the manager and team members to provide each other constructive “positive-negative feedback.”
  • Learn the secrets of unleashing the “can-do spirit” in others.
  • Attain a higher level of professional distinction and employability by taking on management responsibilities while continuing to do professional work.

If you want to give yourself a new approach to productivity in 2017, you won’t want to miss this event.

We are also very fortunate to be having this event at a new locale: The FM Global Training Center in Norwood! See you there!

FM Global Training Center, 1125 Boston Providence Turnpike, Norwood, MA 02062
