ATD Greater Boston Presents:
Adaptive Learning Technology: What Can It Do For My Team?

with Mike Hruska

Wednesday, February 10, 2021

Virtual event - link in registration email

6:30pm – 8:30pm

As emerging technologies and methodologies reshape corporate training, one phrase “adaptive learning” is among the biggest of the buzzwords. But what does it mean? Imagine that you could give every learner their own personalized course, made specifically for their strengths, weaknesses, goals, and engagement patterns. Imagine a course that adapted in real-time to their activity and adjusted moment by moment to their performance and interest level. That’s adaptive learning.

Modern learning ecosystems are a combination of people, experiences, processes, measurement and analytics. They are supported by technology and aligned with business strategy. Emerging technologies can be powerful tools to help organizations enhance both learning outcomes and business performance.

Adaptive learning technology, in particular, may help organizations transform their learning ecosystems to be more engaging and effective for learners and to drive business outcomes.  It has the promise to bring people to higher levels of proficiency faster... while increasing engagement, and providing better transfer to workplace application. While any technology can help, finding the right way to apply technology with purpose will help organizations move smoothly from adaptive learning pilot to scale.

In this session you will learn:

  • What is adaptive learning
  • Examples of adaptive learning
  • Technology considerations
  • Guidance for piloting adaptive learning
  • Considerations when evaluating the impact of adaptive learning
  • Outcome/effectiveness measurement
  • Transformation considerations
